What We Believe

Vision

We endeavor to share the gospel of Jesus Christ whenever and wherever people will listen and receive.  As people come to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, we will use the spiritual gifts Christ gave to His church for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ until we all come into the unity of faith and knowledge of Jesus. [Ephesians 4:11-13, paraphrased].

Mission

WLFM, Inc. teaching outreach ministry mission is to minister to the whole person the foundational biblical truths in God's Word and then teach the practical applications of the foundational biblical truths so that they achieve victory in their daily lives.  'Sanctification is a process...Go through the process.' [Philippians 1:6, paraphrased]

Statement of Belief

We believe the Old and New Testament is the inerrant Word of God.  We believe this Holy Book provides divine instruction through words of comfort in sorrow, counsel for our problems, guidance in perplexed situations, rebuke for our sins, and inspiration for our daily needs.

We believe in one true God manifested in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that He is Sovereign and Absolute in His authority.  (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19, 1 Timothy 3:16)

We believe Jesus is the incarnate of God conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  We believe that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father except through Him.  (Matthew 1:18-25; John 3:31-32, 36; 14:6)

We believe in the indwelling Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is to convict men of sin, to guide men into all truth, to instruct, to comfort, to empower the believer for godly living and service.  We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as demonstrated on the Day of Pentecost evidenced through speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.  We believe that Christians must be filled daily by using their prayer language, but the evidence of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence is a changed life.  (John 14:17; 26; Acts 2:1-4; Ephesians 5:18-21)

We believe Man was created in the image and after the likeness of God.  Although man fell into sin, God made it possible for man to be redeemed back to Him through the redemptive blood of Jesus, and by man accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, man can be united with God again.  (Genesis 1:26-27; 3:6-7)

We believe Salvation is available for everyone who through faith believes Jesus is the Son of the living God, and that Jesus died on the Cross for their sins, was resurrected from the dead with all power in His Hands and now sits at the right hand of the Father. That confession is made and repentance is wanted. (Philippians 2:5-11; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe in Water Baptism by the immersion in water.  It is a testimony to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ into a new life.  (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38; Luke 3:21-22)

We believe in the administering of the Lord's Supper, Communion, as a memorial service set forth in a sacred and symbolic manner celebrating the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 6:53-58; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30)

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head.  (1 Corinthians 12:12-31)

We believe Jesus will personally and imminently return as our hope and this should have a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.  (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
